It’s the last Friday of the month, time to buy music.
It’s been a long January here in the US, and I’m grateful for all the artists working to bring positive energy to the dancefloor, and solace to quiet moments of rest & relaxation.
There Is Much Pain in The World But Not in This Room.
Here are my Bandcamp selections for January 2025.
Selections
Prometeo
by Maruwa & Younger Than Me on Dischi Autunno
New from Dischi, this 5 track EP is a collaboration between Maruwa & Younger Than Me, and features remixes by Mabel and DJ Babatr. Reaching back through time to channel the raw energy of 90s rave, acid, and progressive, this release is all killer, beaming down high energy peak time sounds from a parallel dimension.
Favorite tracks: “Prometeo” is a super fun, bright, progressive techno throwback, “So Cool” drops down to the basement, with dark trance and a vocal hook. Everything else is great too, including the jackin’ “Prometeo (Mabel Remix)” rework.
Command Future EP
by Sorcery on Body Theory
The second Sorcery release to be selected for Buy Music Day, the Command Future EP is out now on Body Theory, with four monster tracks of churning, dark, industrial hardtechno. Featuring massive factory floor percussion, broken beat, industrial atmosphere, and unrelenting hardtechno percussion.
Favorite Tracks: Track 2, “Pith Pivot” is serious fun, with industrial rollers and charging mechanical drums loaded with tons of dancefloor energy. The closing track, “Demand Future” is a brilliant collaboration with UVB, driven by progressive raw techno drums and building up incredible positive, skyward vibes with its lead synths.
The Final Chapter
by Acidboy on Involve Records
Industry veteran Regal delivered this full-length album back in November on Involve Records, under his Acidboy alias. Stacked with 11 tracks, we ascend into a sprawling and dynamic soundscape of buzzy, high energy dark acid. The titles and skit track make it clear this is an introspective journey, and you can read more about what went into this release from Regal himself at Attack Magazine.
Favorite tracks: “Rudio (ft. AEREA)” is a soaring dark acid cut with a haunting cybernetic female vocal. “Energy Circuit” is a supercharged dark trance dancefloor heater, and “Broken Dreams Club” defies its title, with bright, progressive synths building over hype dark acid.

Goldener Raver (ACOR HT Rework)
by Joachim Witt & Acor on Ministry of Rave Culture
“Goldener Reiter” is a certified German new wave classic from Joachim Witt that’s been getting the remix treatment for decades now, and MORC label’s Acor is here to crank it to 11 in this hardcore techno rework built for peak time dance floors everywhere. 🔨💥 🔨💥 🔨💥 🔨💥

CCXXXIII
by M4ry on Ōtomo Trax
New on Otomo Trax this month, a label debut for Berlin-based M4RY. This 4-track EP features raw, hard groove, punchy minimal techno. Track 1, “Freak it” is built around a vocal sample from Roula, and “Work out” pulls out all the stops for a raw dancefloor banger. Favorite track: “Work out”
