The Shortest of Days, The Darkest of Nights

Lunation 1274 –

This year’s edition of eskhaton aligns with of the arrival of the new moon on Friday, the 19th of December. At the end of the lunar cycle, these dark, moonless nights share their observance this weekend with the winter solstice on December 21st.

The shortest of days, the darkest of nights.

Sol and Mani are sister and brother. They ride through the sky on horse-drawn chariots, relentlessly pursued by the wolves Skoll and Hati.

One day there will come a Great Winter, which will continue for three years. The wolves, who have hunted the sun and the moon since the cosmos began, will at last catch their quarry. The sun will fail, plunging the earth into darkness and cold. The moon and the stars will disappear from the sky, leaving nothing but a black void.

this is the end.
